About

Hello, my name is Gary.

My home is in central Massachusetts. I graduated from Burncoat Senior High School in Worcester, MA, and attended Quinsigamond CC, but that was a long time ago.

Over the years I have discovered new interests and pursued many hobbies: I’ve studied martial arts, namely Okinawan Goju Ryu and more recently Kodokan Judo, I’ve been a computer programmer, an electronics technician, a software manager, a sales manager, a photographer, a back-packer, a forager and stargazer. I was a Master Mason and remain an active member of a local sportsman’s club. Yes, that’s right, I like shooting sports and fishing too. I am a licensed real estate sales agent and hold an extra class radio operators license. I am N1DMN. Along with running my own software business, I also volunteer in our local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Oh, did I mention band camp on Fridays?

I have a wonderful wife, Joan, and two children, Danny and Nicole. Occasionally we sneak away to a little cabin in Maine. Some call it a lonely place, but I prefer the term–as my departed friend Bobby called it–“God’s County.” Indeed, simply launch a kayak or watch a setting sun and you’ll offer a similar description.

From 1976 to 1996 I worked alongside several great people at a company named Decitek Corp. in Westboro, MA. The company manufactured punched tape readers and BTRs for NC Program input on NC machines. In its early days, the company was owned by Jamesbury Corporation in Worcester and was later purchased by two of its original employees, Bill and Heng. In the spring of 1996, after nearly 20 years of service, I took a management job with CNC Engineering / Innovations in Enfield, CT to oversee the development of manufacturing software. Once again I worked with some of the best people in the industry.

Moving forward, in October of 2006 I became one of two owners of the software division of CNC Engineering. The newly-organized company moved to Massachusetts where it continues to develop and service the manufacturing industry. Now as the sole owner of the company, CNC Innovations, I am happy to say that I work harder with longer hours than I would have ever imagined, and it’s wonderful.

Anyway, someday I’ll post my favorite pictures on this website, or maybe even blog boring stories for use by insomniacs. Until then follow the links to an assortment of photos I’ve taken for my friends. If you know me and would like to say hello, you can reach me at N1DMN@sanselu.com
